My friend Jon sent me a great article on the new governor of my home state of Montana. He's a Democrat (the governor... and my friend Jon, too), which is a new thing for a state that's as red as they come. Here's how I responded to him and his friends:
If Montana doesn't make sense to you after reading this, don't worry... even natives don't really understand how ultra-liberal, tree-hugging academics who ride their bike to work and wear hemp clothing can co-exist so peacefully with shit-kicking, gun-toting good old boys who drive big trucks and wear their cowboy hats to bed.
My hometown of Missoula, Montana is as liberal as any here in California. Meanwhile, over in Alberton...
